Brow asymmetry is a difference between the two brows in height, arch, or the way each rides above the eye. Some difference is natural and present in nearly every face, often tied to the dominant hand or the side a person sleeps on, and it usually goes unnoticed. It becomes a concern when the difference grows pronounced enough that the eye reads it, lending the face an uneven or quizzical look at rest.
Most often it is a matter of muscle, one side pulling or lifting more than the other, which is precisely the kind of imbalance a careful, asymmetric dose can ease.
Correction suits the patient whose brows read visibly uneven at rest or in expression and who would welcome a quieter balance, particularly where the difference is one of muscle rather than structure. It also suits those left with an asymmetry after a relaxer placed without attention to the two sides, which a careful, balancing dose can often settle.
The brows are moved by paired muscles that rarely work in perfect concert. One side of the forehead may lift more strongly, or one set of depressors pull harder, and over years of repeated expression the habit settles into a visible difference at rest. Sleep position, a dominant side of the face, and prior treatment placed without attention to balance can all play a part.
Less commonly, asymmetry follows a nerve issue or a structural difference between the two sides, which is why an honest look at the cause comes before any correction.

Small asymmetries are present throughout life and often go unremarked. They can grow more visible with age as the muscles of one side gain on the other and as the brow descends unevenly.
