What began as a clinical rotation in plastic surgery, over twenty years ago, grew, for Sarah, into a passion for creating natural, balanced results where patients feel seen, heard, and cared for non-surgically.
Those years in plastic and reconstructive surgery gave her a deep command of facial anatomy, and of restoring balance, symmetry, and proportion to a face. She is regarded as one of the country's leading injectors, known for her precision with lasers, advanced injection work, and facial mapping.
That early rotation led her, in time, to found Refined Aesthetics in Leesburg in 2005. The practice began as a place to teach. It remains one.
Sarah has trained more than 10,000 aesthetic providers by hand across the country, and continues to teach through advanced injectable and facial-mapping instruction. She has lectured for the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants on non-surgical trends in plastic surgery, and for the American Med Spa Association on advanced lower-facial rejuvenation.
She sits on the advisory boards of The Aesthetic Masterminds and The Academy for Injection Anatomy, and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and The Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists. She also serves as an expert aesthetic medical witness.
Early on, Arthur Swift, MD, taught me to see the face through proportion, balance, and movement, at a time when very few people were studying facial dynamics that deeply.
Later, Chris Surek, DO, helped shape my respect for the intricate details of facial anatomy. That respect has become the foundation of how I treat every patient: with safety, intention, and trust.
