How it works

Quiet warmth beneath the surface, prompting renewal.

Moxi is a non-ablative fractional laser. It does not remove the surface of the skin. Instead it sends tiny columns of gentle heat just below the surface, in a fraction of the treated area at a time, prompting the skin to renew itself in the days that follow.

Because it works beneath the surface and treats only a fraction of the skin at once, recovery is brief. The improvement is gradual, tone clearing and texture softening over the weeks that follow, and it builds with each session rather than arriving all at once.

The consultation

At your first visit

Before anything is decided, your provider studies your skin: its tone, its texture, the dullness or unevenness you have begun to notice, and whether it is ready for a gentle laser or for something else. Moxi suits most skin tones, but the plan is always drawn from the skin in front of us.

"During Treatment" Symbol

The session

Thirty to forty-five minutes

The skin is cleansed and a numbing cream applied for comfort. Your provider then passes the laser gently across the treated area. Most people feel warmth and a light prickling, no more. Afterward, Ariessence PDGF is applied to the freshly treated skin, to ease the healing and support the renewal already underway. It is quick, and easily tolerated.

The days that follow

Glow builds over the week

For a day or two the skin feels warm and looks faintly flushed, then takes on a fine, sandpaper roughness as it renews and sloughs away. These small darkened points, sometimes called MINS, along with a little temporary unevenness, can last up to a week. Keep the skin clean and moisturized, and wear sun protection without fail. Most people return to the day at once, though the skin may not look its best until it has cleared. The glow builds over the weeks that follow, and deepens with each session.

ON METHOD

Tend the skin early.

Moxi is the gentlest of our resurfacing lasers, and we use it accordingly: as care, as prevention, as a way of keeping skin clear before deeper treatment is needed. We do not use it to chase a result Moxi cannot deliver. We use it for what it is made for, which is quiet clarity.

The result is built gradually. With each session the skin clears a little further, softer and more even than the last, the work compounding over time.

ON RESTRAINT

Gentle, deliberate, not deferred.

Restraint with Moxi is not about doing less of the treatment. It is about not waiting for a deeper concern before tending the skin at all. Skin treated early stays easier to treat. Skin tended late often asks for harder work.

Moxi is the deliberate beginning. We treat it that way.

ON EXPERIENCE

The laser, guided.

Even a gentle laser needs guidance: measured overlap, an even pass, attention to the contour of the face, an awareness of skin tone and how it answers heat. The hand holding the laser is doing work the laser cannot. The setting matters. The technique matters more.

ON RETURNING

Through every season.

Moxi keeps no season of its own. It can be done through the year, and even on skin with a little color, when the settings and timing are chosen for it. As with any laser, freshly treated skin has to be kept from the sun while it heals. Most patients return once or twice a year to hold the clarity they have built. The cadence is personal. The protection is not optional.

WHO THiS is FOR

For early, careful tending of the skin.

Moxi suits the person who has begun to notice the first dullness and unevenness of tone, and who would rather tend the skin early than wait for more to correct. It is gentle enough for younger skin and for anyone new to lasers, and forgiving of all skin tones.

It is well suited to those who want a real improvement in clarity and glow with less visible disruption than most lasers, and a recovery that still lets them carry on with the week.

WHO THiS is not FOR

For deeper repair, a stronger laser will do the work.

Moxi is gentle by design, and at its best when the aim is early care and quiet renewal. For deeper wrinkles, loose skin, or significant scarring, a stronger resurfacing laser will do the work, and we would be glad to walk you through what suits at the consultation.

Moxi rewards patience and repetition. If what you are hoping for is one dramatic result rather than a gradual building of clarity, it is not the right tool just now, and we will help you find one that is.
